She’s one of the most influential artists alive, a master of costume, and an observant social critic.
The Cindy Sherman exhibition at the City Gallery shows pieces from the past 16 years of her career, including a site-specific mural in the gallery foyer and some newer pieces created last year. It’s interesting to see an earlier series in the exhibition almost foreshadow the self-conscious image making of social media today.
Cindy Sherman runs until 19 March at the City Gallery, we highly recommend the exhibition tour if you visit around lunch time.
