We designed and built an interactive infographic web page for the Te Tari Whakatau website, mapping the entire Treaty settlement process from start to finish. Readers get the full picture at a glance, then click into any section to go deeper on the parts that matter most to them.

Two steps in the process, types of redress and terms of negotiation, needed more than a static page could offer. Both involve layers of nuance, so we created short animations that walk people through what happens at each stage, sitting alongside the infographic for anyone who wants to understand a step in real depth.

To complement the digital content, we designed a suite of printable infographics for people wanting to engage in their community groups. An overview infographic maps the process end to end, and each stage is detailed further in related infographics, so people can take that information back to their whānau or rōpū.

This project sits alongside our Mandate Toolkit work which shows how ngā hapū o Ngāpuhi can engage with the Crown’s mandating process.

A process this complex will always have a lot of moving parts. Our layered approach offers choice in how to access the information – from an overview of the journey ahead, to understanding each step on the path in more depth.

We continue to be impressed with Gusto’s ability to take complex information and turn it into simple and engaging content. Gusto collaborated with us to draw out our vision and then guided us through the technical process to deliver videos, factsheets, and web content on time and on budget. Mahi tika ana!
